Wierd Idling Thing
Today I noticed that whenever I stop for a stop sign or a light, my car (98 Civic EX) idles really low (around the 400rpm range)... It shakes a little, like it's going to stall, but when I go again, I've got plenty of power, and no problems... Any ideas?
whats the TB? and can you explain why the cable throttle has anything to do with idle? i have the same problem too. thanks.

TB= throttle body... the throttle cable adjusts a butterfly "leaf" that allows air to pass into the engine... when u adjust the cable, u may let more air in at idle and not get that low idle... acutally, i have the same prob too, any other suggestions?
throttle cable should have about 1/4-3/8" deflection in it when adjusted properly. If it is NOT over tighten then it CANNOT effect the idle in ANY way.
Cleaning the TB removes the gunk that gets built up around the butterfly. VERY common on Accords. Honda even has a TSB addressing this issue.

Might be your iac sensor. If my car is warmed up and I pull the sensor off its clip idles around 480 rpm(if the car is cold it will just die). Don't know if it would throw a code or not if the sensor is messed up. Mine threw a code when I unplugged it.
