Default D16 Vtec controller question and tranny questions

1. Okay check this out. The D16Y8, I'm dropping it into the HB, but people said I need a Vtec controller? Doesn't the p28 ECU handle that? If not, I guess Apexi is on the Christmas list?
2. My tranny, there is no smooth shifting. I depress the clutch almost all the way out and then the clutch catches like, immediately. So when I shift, I get a hard and sudden jerk. Any ideas. Did this make sense?

If you convert your car to obd1 and run a p28 ecu you do not need a vtec controller. The p28 ecu is from z6 motors which are 92-95 sohc vtec engines. There are only a few minor changes from the z6 to the y8, but these changes result in a whopping 2hp increase.

When you are gonna do the swap drop me an email if you have any questions.
