MSD or OEM?
Ok so It has been brought to my attention that my ignitor is going bad.
So i'm getting ready to replace it, was going to order one from len for $166 when I found this http://www.prostreetonline.com...mance/
what should I do? or is there more I need then just that MSD ignition?

OEM is great but depending on ifyour doinug future engine modsi would replace the whole ignition system somewhat likei did little costly at firstbut im glad i got it out the way. If your keeping this just like a daily driven econ car just buy a replacement oem andsleep better at night.
good luck

There are very very very few cases where the OEM ignition system is not perfectly capable.
And I would venture to guess that the OP is not one of those cases.
Use the OEM gear.

it's overkill for a street setup.

what about this autozone ignitor i'm hearing about? stay away?
from the expierence I've had with Autozone (or any other around the corner store) there stuff is kind of cheaply made. I've had a few of their caps and rotors fail and a lot of the screws with their caps snap off on me.
any thoughts?

bottom line is.. your igniter took a ****, right? so how is an ignition box going to solve that issue? that just amplifies the signal that the igniter gets.
you need an igniter, regardless. get oem. does it say NEC or hitachi on your igniter? i noticed integra ones cost more. try and look at some accord or civic ones. you'll find one that fits.

I agree, thats why its off. But it didnt have a negative effect on anything while it was on my car.

i've had msd for about 40 k , no problems. you will hear a lot of bad **** about it but I personally have experienced no problems. I have msd cap and coil and 8.5 wires. I noticed a slight improvement in throttle response. I would agree that if you have not heavily modified your car it will probably be best to keep it the way the Honda gods intended and spend the money some place else.
