idle screw wont work?
okay i have the chronic low idle and i tried to adjust my idle and it wouldnt move at all, right now its at about 300-400 when warmed up which is waay too low and im sick of the constant shaking and vibration from it being so low, but even backing the idle screw out all the way does absolutely nothing to the idle, any suggestions as to whats wrong? car drives perfectly except for this
if you remove the idle screw it should go up to like 1000 rpm at least, maybe its clogged up with something. maybe take out the idle screw squirt some carb cleaner in there see what happens, or remove tb to see the back and clean thoroughly and 400rpm isnt that low look under you hood for idle specs i think my b16 idles at 400 when warm and purrs like a kitten, i dont know why everyone always complains about idle problems, i adjusted once and its been fine
Are you unplugging the EACV before trying to set the idle?
In order to properly set your idle, you need to warm the car up, turn it off, jump your service connector, unplug your EACV, then restart the car and adjust the idle with the idle screw.
After it idles where you want it, turn the car back off, plug the EACV back in, and remove the ECU fuse for 10 seconds to reset the ECU.
That is the proper way to set your idle. If you just start screwing the idle screw in and out you aren't going to help anything.
