question on insurance qutoes online
why does it ask what amount detuctable i want?
i see no option for "full coverage" insurance ive applied at progressive and at gieco.
list options like "uninsured coverage" and then ask what deductable i want.
and collision coverage and then again ask what kinda deductable i want? i dont get it, what is deductable? haha and im probably spelling it wrong.

and theres differnt amounts of deductables? why is paying a higher deductable for a certain coverage better? why dont they just list the option for full coverage.
Higher deductibles mean you have to pay that amount (for example, a $1000 deductible) per claim (if at fault).
Higher deductible = lower premiums.
When they say "full coverage," it refers to carrying certain amounts of coverage. You can carry more than the bare minimum. That, of course, increases your premium.

Why not go to your local insurance agency and talk with someone who actually knows how to explain all this. That is what they are there for. If its anything I have learned by getting older, its that people know stuff I dont. I dont try to act like I know everything. Just ask for help.
Deductable is what your going to pay to get something fixed IF the accident was your fault. With a motorcycle, I recommend the 500$ deductable. I also recommend getting GAP insurance and the make sure theft coverage is included.

Also, brokers can often get you a better deal than you will find through online quotes.

i agree with speaking with an insurance broker/agent about this.
Typically for a motorcycle people get liability (b/c it's required and why the hell not) and Comprehensive (hitting animals, theft, vandilism, etc) and leave out collision since it nearly doubles the premium.

Does collision only cover your bike, if you get in an accident thats your fault? cause unless you have some rediculously expensive bike, in most cases i think you would be better off just buying a new one than paying those huge premiums.

they dont list full coverage because there's no such coverage as full coverage. what people refer full coverage to is having comprehensive and collision. comprehensive covers your vehicle in event it is stole, vandalized, damaged by lightning, fire, hail storm etc. . the deductible is the portion you pay to repair your vehicle before your insurance pays to repair your vehicle. collision covers your vehicle in event you collide with some object. the deductible works the same as previously explained.
