Re: insurance question (dan4)
You should really call your insurance company about this. However, with my insurance (Farmers) I can change, cancel, do anything I want with my policy anytime I want. Since I pay every 6 months, I would just get a prorated check back for whatever I didn't use.

Student discount, multiple cars on the premium, ABS (it lowers mine), also if your insurance company does more than just car insurance (home, life, etc) if you have any of those covered, usually you get a discount as well.

well your insurance is going to be high no matter what. but take as many drivers courses as possible. if you get a eg get the worst model ever. also depending on if you get bare minume or full coverage, a alarm lowers it, if you park in a garage at home it lowers it. the amount of miles you estimate you are going to drive lowers it.(lower the better) your zip code plays a roll aswell. there are alot of things that help. But your insurance company wont tell you.
