Default bore block

If i was going to do a larger bore what other upgrades would i need ? Obviously more fuel will be needed, larger pistons, larger rods, and new larger sleeves. Do i have to upgrade to a larger crank ? Also how will altering the bottom end affect the reliablity of the car ? And with a larger bore wont the motor need more air ... ? Would a port and polish do the job ?

What exactly are you looking at doing? Answer that first.

I want something that can be a weekend racecar but still be pretty reliable for my daily commute. I dont drive that much about 8k a year. I wanted to do an all motor setup, that being more reliable than a turbo setup for everyday. I was thinking of doing an rmf header, port and polish, obd -1 conversion, hondadata s300, worked head, not sure what pistons and rods yet.

I have a friend that works at a machine shop so labor will be very cheap.

If you are going to go with forged pistons the block needs to be resleeved.

If you want to up the compression a little bit and stay OEM, go with some Type S pistons. Find a good shop to port and polish the head and to flowbench it. Maybe some stage 2 or 3 cams and matching valvetrain. From a budget standpoint, id say go turbo. resleeve, new pistons, rods, fresh rebuild basically. If tuned right and maintained, it should be pretty reliable. For around the same price, you could have three times the power out of a turbo setup.

I suggest you start doing alot of reading.
