Default car won't start up after a couple stalls

Hi guys, new to prelude forum...well my friend just bought a prelude and as he was practicing starting-off, he stalled the car twice in a row within 5 minutes...then we try to start it up but the engine dies or won't start. Is this due to the engine being hot??? It seems normal enought, but only 2 stalls to get the engine that hot?? Can anyone enlighten me on this matter..btw its 94 prelude with h22

i dont think it has anything to do with over heating. sounds like he flooded it. just let it sit for a while, and it should start up ok.

Sounds alot like what mine does when my 4WS goes out and I try to start it right away. Will turn over just fine, but wont idle for more than a second before it dies.

Yours, being a '94 and VTEC model, surely doesn't have 4WS..

That kind of what it does when you start it though? Idles for a split second and then dies?

its flooded..the reason it wont idle is its got all that gas sitting there and it has to burn that out before its gonna idle

lol exactly...i've never heard of flooding an efi engine. obviously you must have damaged something when the idiot was trying to get the car moving and stalled it. just take it into a shop it doesnt seem like you know what your doing.

3 ppl have had flooding

2 of the 3 times we had to replace the sparkplugs due to fouling

but all you have to do is pull the spark plugs and let it dry

and of those two times, it was after timing belt install and someone forgot to hookup something but the car would crank. after letting combustion chamber dry and replacing sparkplugs it would start again

cars were 96 accord, 2002 celica gts, 02 eclilpse

its not hard to flood a fuel injected car. launching it and killing it like he is doing is a perfect example. when he kills it, the fuel left that was uncompressed is just sitting there

You sure about that? Then why was my 240SX flooding? I would have to pull the fuel pump fuse, crank it, let it burn off the excess fuel, then it would start.....then die. I would then pop the fuse back in, crank it, it would start, and away I would go.

Man, I am starting to lose faith in your advice. I haven't seen quality posts from you recently.

It sounds to me like it could be the main relay for the fuel pump over heating, resulting in just the opposite. It would create a lack of fuel.

I have to do this myself in my prelude when it floods.

how about you quit stalling it. learn how to shift and use the clutch. believe it or not flooring it and dropping the clutch is not the fastest way to accelerate. also, the way that he origionally posted the problem made it sound like he stalled the car twice and it wouldnt start. end of story. not if i stall it a couple times it wont run for a while and then it will run until i stall it some more.

how about you read the post carefully, my friend is learning on this car, it aint on a oem clutch instead its on an act extreme, he never floored it and was trying to feather such a massive clutch and stalled. Do you have so little self-esteem that you have to start **** in every post?? Are you a natural ***...please people if you don't have anything constructive or helpful to say please refrain from posting

my friend doesn't know how to drive a stick so i drove it to my mechanic for him alright?? Yeah i help my friend out when it comes to posting on this forum because of his trial user problems and even with finding him a decent mechanic. Maybe you wouldn't understand because you don't have a friend like that and instead you sit on your ***, come on to Honda-Tech abd bitch in moan in someones post.

damn, that was just uncalled for. and yes it is possible to flood a fuel injected car, albeit harder than it is to flood a carb.

secondly, i thought people participate on these boards to advance each others knowledge? what do you gain by calling the OP an idiot? it seems to me that YOU dont know what you're doing.
