Default Crower 404's good with boost?

My friend bought a pair of Crower 404 cams for his LS and now plans on building the bottom end and boosting it..everyone says that the such high lift and duration on the cam is not good for boost, is that true? i have searched and couldn't find any info on these cams on boosted applications, any info would help..i personally figured higher duration cams would make more top end power.

Actually those cams are prolly the best for an LS with boost. make sure you have aftermarket valve sprigs and retainors.

SprayTeg on here has a set that are "almost" like them, he's running like 11.1 @ 130+ traps with them in an EK hatch.

Theres a few people i've heard that liked that setup. the lobes are almost the exact same as GSR vtec lobes, so why not, right?

I ran a Custom Grind Crower cams similar to the 404s on my dohc ZC with boost, and i loved them. It wasnt a happy idler, but had a great topend, with the larger displacement LS idle shouldnt be a problem tho.

long duration gives more top end, too long cause blowtrough and you`ll loose powerband, if the engine isnt reving high.
think that have to do with the setup, F.eksample a ford motor reving 6500rpm and stop..doesnt benefit of a type R spec cam (on high lift lobe)unless it rev past 8000rpm.
not with turbo.

high lift is good
long duration is good too, on high reving engines.

I still say a thumb rule is, boosted engines needs smaller duration and overlap.
and know many disagree, becouse they proven otherwise on their HONDA engines..
but it`s something special with honda

He has the crower dual valvesprings, but stock retainers, i don't believe he plans on reving past 8,500, we are going to dyno it once finished and then find a shifting point.. thanks for the info, and vtacsonn has to be nick, lol
