not making power and dont know why???
my all motor setup dyno'd at 169 whp and 126 tq. now i put a turbo kit on and to my surprise i dyno'd at 184 whp and 146 tq. that just doesnt sound right to me, so i swaped out my stage 1 cams for some gsr cams and prayed for a improvement. well needless to say there was no improvement. i lost top end power...
i found a couple of leaks...fixed them and still no top end power... i keep losing boost through out the top end....7..6...5..
i had better top end with the stage 1's....but with the gsr's i gained in my mid range...
anyone have any ideas on where to looking for problems...? could it just be the turbo itself that has gone bad?
i running a stock b18b block and b16 head with dual valve springs/retainers, adjustable cam gears, chipped p28, and a greddy turbo kit.
please help...thanks

how much boost are you running? I think that kit is something like 5.5 psi? Do you have a boost gauge to see if your getting the boost into the intake manifold? Check IC piping connections. Good luck
i would also get it tuned. cuz you could throw a kit on there and prolly gain about 50-75 hp, but if you get it tuned those numbers could almost triple. not to mention it being a lot more reliable than before. just my .02

where did you find the wire problem...just asking so that i can know where to start looking...

i did get it tuned...at first we though it might be the stage 1 cams that where overlapping too much and letting too much boost out... so we swapped out with gsr cams, and it still made no difference.

so you're running 7 psi so thats what your boost gauge says? Or are you just going off of what the stock wastegate spring is?

thats what the gauge says... it goes to 7 and drops slowly from there.

wat was the problem?
wat was the problem?
it was one of those nasty leaks... it was coming from the weld on the blow off valve... and another on the charge pipe... after getting rid of those leaks i made another 26 whp and 31 lbs. tq.!
