my oil feed line leaks...do i need a gasket?
i just finished my turbo install and it all looks good except for my feed line it leaks quiet a bit when i turn the car on, the leak comes from the spinning area(the threaded part of line) i used teflon tape and it still leaks(this is the side coming from my firewall kit) but the side of the line that goes to the turbo doesnt leak.
so do i need to use an o-ring or a gasket??? (i dont remember using anything besides teflon tape on my last kit)

also im using a stealthmode feed line.....anyone know the diameter of the fitting (on end of the line)
pretty sure his older kits were -4an and his newer kits may be -3an iirc
i have the same kit and have no gaskets on it what so ever

The only other times I've heard of leaking problems at the hose end/fitting is when the hose end is over tightened and it gets a hairline crack in it. The best way to make sure is to take that side of the hose end off and inspect it for cracks. The hose end can actually seal by hand, but the recommended tightening procedure is to tighten by hand and then "1 flat". 1 flat meaning after you tighten it by hand, there are 6 flat surfaces on the hose end, and you tighten it so that 1 flat falls into the position of the next flat to it's clockwise postion.
Teflon tape is also not recommended on the angled hose end side of the fittings. Anti-sieze will do fine.
Here's a picture of a feedline that a customer sent me that this happened to:
Let me know what you find and I'll help you out. -Steve

ahh thanks steve
well i dont have a crack on the line (well if so it's not like the one in the pic) im starting to think it's the fitting......so it should seal w/out the teflon tape?

Yeah, I would say take that junction apart, clean everything (old tef. tape, dirt, sealer, ect) and try putting everything back together just using anti-sieze. While everything is apart, check the fittings for cracks, stripped threads, ect. before putting back together. Let me know how it works out. -Steve
