Default Hood won't pop

When I hit my hood release it doesn't pop at all. I've tried having someone pull it up while I hold the release, or pull the cable tight, but nothing seems to work. How do I get my hood open?

Have someone hold the handle open, then go to your hood and start pounding right on the H logo. It'll pop eventually. Once it is open undo the screws on the T-bar in front of the radiator and adjust the latch a little bit. Might also want to find some lube and lube the latch area up.

Best way to get it is one swift fist down right on the latch, and it'll usually pop open. Good luck!

this is a common problem... if u dont wanna pound on the hood (i never tried that method) u have to take the bumper off (15 minutes)

just take the bumper off and place the end of the cable back in the latch holder thing. looks like the end of a brake cable on a bike. take the bumper off and look up under the latch area. ull see if it not hooked on.

You shouldn't be able to dent it if you hit it where the hood is like vertical. Oh well, you tried! Gadda take the bumper off then like the guy below me said.

I'm trying to get the bumper off.. I unscrewed all 4 screws in the wheel wells, and then unbolted it underneath (2 10mm bolts). It won't come off.. What else is holding it on?

I see some rusted screw holes up top on the bumper but there are no screws in them.. So I don't think those are the problem. Is there something else holding my bumper on?

bolts on the top in the middle.

can you get your hand up there to pull the arm that the cable pulls?

I looked, I can't seem to even find the arm from underneath.

I usually hit it a couple times lightly just reaching out from the car with my other hand on the latch.
you need to pull your bumper lights to get the other 4 bolts out then the bumper should come off

Thanks for the advice.. Bumper's off, now I'm looking up there and I see a latch, but it's not what's holding my hood closed. I think it's the one that holds it closed after you pop it up. Where's the right one?

Seems like the radiator is totally in the way of even looking up to where the latch is.

I found the latch, put the little ball on the end of the cable back in, and the hood popper still won't work.

did you get the hood open atleast?

you know you have to move a little lever when you pop it to fully release the hood right?

Yeah, I can get it open now. The cable to release the hood seems to have way too much slack now. Guess I can just take it up and reattach it to the hood release lever.
