So i installed a type r front end, but wasnt done yet and didnt put the hood cable on and i told my wife to close the hood but not all the way..she closed it all the way anyway, i wasnt done rewiring the radiator up...is there anyway i can pop the hood with out the cable.i dont have a grill on it yet either so i can see the latch but cant pop it open.

 

You can try and take a flat head screwdriver and pry it between the latch and the.. latch part that gets latched? lol. The part that's on the hood.

 

It might take some time and patience but you can reach under the bumper and pop the latch mechanism with a thin screwdriver or something of the like.. I did it on mine, but my grill is cut out of the front which made it a little easier.

 

I don't have a grill either am I just popping the latch were it is connected to the hood?

 

There is a small hole where the cable is supposed to go through the latch on the left side of the latch (looking at the latch from the front to the back). You might be able to bend a nail or create a small hook and put it through the hole and grab onto the lever that releases the hood..

 

you can pop it from underneath the car...a long flathead through the rectangular hole on the rear most part of the latch mechanism...if u look up at it, it looks like a u shaped fork in that rectangular hole...pop it towards the pass. side
