Default modifying cars that are OBD-2

i have always been wondering about this but not too sure...
i remmeber a while ago i read a thread on honda-tech about modifying cars with OBD-2. I read that if you add bolt-ons like intake and stuff, the ECU will try and reset itself so that the intake doesnt have an affect at all?
can anyone elaborate on this??

thank you

You can still add mods and bolt ons and the car will fill the affect of these, the thing about obd2 is that most engine management (hondata, neptune, ect.) use obd1.

I just did a full Engine Build on OBDII.

Its not all true. You do get some noticable gains from boltons. The ECU doesn't "reset" itself, what it does is tunes itself somewhat to run better w/ the changes youve made.

In MY situation, w/ all the mods im doin, Im using an APEXi VAFC for Engine Management. It is limited to its abilities but it will work for what I need to do.
