what is optimum oil psi for a turbo to get
i know everyone says it junk but i got an xs power turbo kit. i am going to be using a needle valve as a restrictor to the turbo . what is the oil pressure supposed to be set at at idle( between restrictor and turbo inlet) ? how much should it be at full throttle? if i set the oil pressure to the turbo at idle to whatever its supposed to be then its done right? d series motor
it depends on the turbo.....i have a turbonetics turbo and i see about 50psi from 4grand to redline....make sure your oil return line is setup correctly.....but most turbos don't like to see the 75psi that comes off the back of the block it's usually about 30-50psi that's good for turbos....any higher and you'll have blow by....

i have a .055" restrictor on mine.. it "sees" 5 psi at idle and 28 at redline. some turbos can take alot more but why find out the hard way..
