Default Made a DIY ice box for my short ram

I made my DIY Ice box out of my stock air filter box and coupled it with my AEM short ram, how come now my car is ALOT better in the low end (pulls more) than it did before?

Thanks! I just needa make a cover for the back were the pipe runs into the box to allow cool air to remain inside now

you sure it's not just in your head? usually cold air is all about top end power, and the icebox design loses to AEM CAI in terms of top end too.

to be completly honest I noticed a differance in low end power when I put on my short ram. Wasn't a lot but the increase in high end was more noticable than the decrease in low end. In for pictures!

well he basically covered the short ram, and ran a pipe from the bottom of the short ram to behind the passenger side turn signal.

just the thing i still can't fully grasp is how ur car can pul ALOT better in the low end, unless it's because covering up your filter from the heat of the engine really made that much of a dramatic difference; which i can't really see happening.

i did a similar thing for my gsr here is my thread:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1487415

and i like it alot better than having it just "out there" in the open too, i really didnt feel much a difference good or bad, so at least it didnt hurt my performance. but who knows butt dynos are misleading.

i used the black piping from the stock resonator. i just cracked the resonator open and viola, perfect fit. they only thing i would like to add is a velocity stack to it.

The bottom portion of the comptech ice box is about 200 alone. You can get one from BSQ and it is basically the same thing for 30 bux. Then just go to ebay and buy a cheap sri and run it into ur stock box.

my aem was on sale at the time so i got it pretty cheap like 80+ bux. also my old filter was done for. it was made in korea so it didnt last that long.....cheap aftermarket filters. and the K&N oem replacement was 70 so i paid the extra for the intake.

heres a pic
