Default itr tech help, is there a doctor in the house?

hey guys, I searched and found some helpful info but I wanted some more specific help.

problem: my 97 itr is throwing a code every day, it says its "running too rich (bank 1)"
and my car is burning oil

more in depth...I bought the car moded, with intake, header, exhaust, comptech ecu, and that is all I know it has for sure...right now it is running off gsr injectotrs cuz my itr ones were leaking. I think the car may have an aftermarket fuel pump, which leads me to think its pumping too much for the regulator to handle and messes up the injectors...does that sound plausable? or what...please help me figure this out, I got extra money to fix my car, but I want to diagnose the problem as best I can before I spend tons of money, haha.

I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and I am going to hook up a fp gauge and dial the regulator to stock pressure hopefully that will work. maybe the comptech ecu makes me run too rich? please help

as for the burning oil problem, I think I have bad valve seals, that's what some technicians suggested as well. any ideas guys?

ur all geniouses, please help itr #362 run like a champ again!

is it a comptech ecu, or comptech chip on your stock ecu?

How MUCH oil is it burning? A small amount (up to a quart every 1000 miles) is normal...

Not healthy, but normal.

and/or a compression test. If you see any numbers that are not consistent, then you have found the general area of your problem.

If you drive 1000-2000 miles every two weeks, then that's not a problem. If you drive much less than that, then it is.

Have you checked the condition of the PCV valve?
If you shake it can you hear it rattle? If not, either replace it or jet some brake clean in it and ensure it can rattle freely.

Go for a drive and then immediately shut off the car and pull the sparkplugs and take some pictures for us to see if you are running as rich as the ECU says it is.

Since it is a Comptech ECU.... have you tried running a stock ECU to see if it pulls the same code? What's the condition of your sparkplug wires and your distributor cap and rotor?

Otherwise, follow the recommendations of the other members to do a leakdown/comp test....

thanks for the help guys, I'll try all the advice, as far as the rich problem goes...the spark plugs are black, haha. I don't have a stock ecu to try out, so unfortunately I havnt tried that, I have an air/fuel gauge hooked up, and I know if its not wideband it won't help much, but it fluctuates fine but every once n a while it stay in the rich zone without fluctuation, I plan on putting my fpr and fp gauge on this weekend or early next week and also run compression test, I'll get back to you, anyone in the sacramento area? I could use some itr help, just for a second opinion, thanks guys

I don't think its a bad o2 sensor, cuz I hooked it up to a scanner when I checked for codes, and it gave me a live data display too, and said my o2 sensors were ok
