Default Sirius / XM receiver mounting suggestions

I've been trying to find a good method & location to mount a Sirius receiver, but so far haven't come up with anything that great. I want it to be in a location that both the driver and passenger can see and change the stations.

As a temporary solution, I attached a piece of cardboard to the base of the sirius mount and it slides into the radio door when it lies open. You can't see the cardboard very easily, so it doesn't look that bad. Do you have any better solutions other then simply make the base out of something besides cardboard?

For those of you who have Sirius or XM, where / how do you mount the receiver?

can you fit it in the slot in the center console or is it too big to go there?

Unfortunately it is too large to fit there.
