Default Clutch prob...i dunno man

Well Ive searched on this topic, but cant find nething that really pertains to me. So.................Sometimes my clutch engages like less than an inch off the floor and theres no play whatsoever. Also, when the clutch is pressed fully down its hard to get the gears into gear (Very Hard!), and this is especially with downshifting, i have to fight the gears to get them in.....if i release the clutch slowly in 1st gear it will make a scraping noise too.
P.S. My clutch fluid is muddy black

You think maybe you should change it?

if your fluid is messy, like you say it is, the seals in the master are probably going or gone altogether. replace the master and might as well do the slave while you are there, and flush the fluid out completely.

That will make it clean now, but what could have caused the the mess in the first place? The dirty color is metal shavings in the cylinder from the transmission. The "mud" is actually metal.
