are you just putting motor oil in??

if so, you can start by using actual tranny fluid like honda mtf or the ever popular GM synchromesh.

Make sure you my GM Synchromesh FM (Friction Modified) made my 3rd gear grind go away.

synthetic is too slick for the tranny anyways, it needs more friction

you will need three quarts and you fill it until it starts coming out. if i remember correctly i think i spent around 30 dollars for 3 quarts and i got it from the local gm dealer. i didnt really notice a difference although my tranny didnt grind to begin with.

You might be ok..When I did this my grinding didn't completely go away until about 1-2 weeks later so wait for a little...by the way I don't know if any of you know this but you can disconnected the Speed Sensor and put a hose in there that will fit put a funnel on the top and just pour the fluid in slowly. You just have to keep checking the fill hole to see if there is oil coming out. I couldn't get mine off so I used 3 qts. on mine. I called the dealer and they said 3 qts. is fine :-)

You need to fill it to where it supposed to be filled, did you take out the check plug and make sure you filled it till it comes out? also check your clutch mc and fill it all the way. also, drive the car car for at least 50 miles after you change the fluid, when I did mine it still sucked for a little while until the new fluid gits in everywhere.

lets face it.. your third gear synchros or shift forks are no good anymore. any type of transmission fluid, whether it be gm synchromesh or honda mtf.. whatever.. is not going to solve your problem.

lets not forget, he mentioned that the gear no longer works gentlemen.. its no longer a grind, better trans fluid is no longer a solution..

get a new trans, or rebuild the one you have.
