Default Hooking up strobe lights to alarm

I was reading some post and a few people said that they have installed strobe lights in there car that is wired up to the alarm so it will start strobing when the alarm is set off. I was wondering where they bought the strobes from and what wire did they use to tap into the alarm brain on a Python 460HP?

Thanks

Wal-Mart, Autozone, Kragen, and Pep-Boys should have some. However, they're not as bright as the strobes seen on pacecars, police cars, and fire trucks. They have 2 wires, (+/-). If you want them to turn on when the alarm is tripped, the only thing I can think of is to tap the strobe wire into the wire connected to the siren.

Probably want to use a relay. Siren wire to 86, 85 chassis ground (no thicker than 18 gauge wire). - on strobe to chassis ground. 87 to constant 12V, fused, 30 to + on strobe. Haven't done it myself though.

Actually I have this kit here: http://www.streichers.com/Prod...0CCCC. It is the ones that the police use so it should be bright

Yep, that would work. If the strobes are negativly activated then 87 would go to ground rather than 12v+ and the the strobe - activation would go to 30.

Exspensive, but if your looking for emergency vehicle strength. http://www.galls.com is the way to go.

Galls is overpriced. You can get the same equipment on eBay. When I got my Whelen police strobe kit, I saved like $200 buying on eBay.

No idea. Was like 3 years ago.

Actually, that link above (Streichers) is a good price. That's the one I have as well. I got 2 extra strobe tubes and cables for about the same price on eBay.

Good link.
