bored out d16
i have a 96 4-door civic with a measely d16y7, i was talkin to my pops and he suggested to get a significant amount of power from this engine that i should bore out the engine and then pretty much rebuild the it. custom cams, valves, you know. for a little bit less than a swap. does anyone have any other suggestions or does anyone think that would be a good idea? let me know! thanks
If you have 3 grand have you thought about a turbo setup? for that kind of money you could build a nice turbo setup and start building the block with forged pistons/rods. stay sohc

Yeah what he said. Boost the SOHC and get forged internals and with the proper tuning you should have a pretty potent setup. Staying NA on a d16 can get pretty costly for the horsepower gains you will see. Good luck.
