Default Searched: Tach into an Automatic

I've done some research and I know how to put the tach in the guage cluster and everything but I just need to know if I have to wire it to anything. Or if I plug in all my connections will it work without me having to do anything else? I have a 99 DX /AT. Thanks. (I know how much you all hate automatics, but my wife drives it also and she can't drve stick).

Because i like the look. I had one in my old Bimmer and I just like having one. I know there's no point in having one in an auto. Just for looks.

There is a blue wire under your hood. It is caped of on the drivers side on the strut tower. Thats a signal wire for a tach. Just run power, ground, and that signal, then you'll have a tach.
