Default have yall ever had this problem..

ight im a need member by the way so hello. i gotz a 00 wyte gsr with some nice extra's but to my question... well live in arlington TX AND I MOVED TO LUBBOCK this past 2 weeks because i got expected to TEXAS TECH U , so its about a 5 hour drive from my home and i dont have all my tools up here so i decided to have the chance to change my clutch for another stage 2 and my timing belt and of course the water pump..ect.. wel when i putt all my belt on. for some reason my alt was make a nasty as noise like a bolt was is in and grinding.. i was pissed cause i thought i might have bent it when i lifted the block.. it i check it and it was fine.. well long story short inwas the damn belt i bought,, IT WAS TOO WIDE .. ! so i was make more pressure on the outside of the pulley.. so i had to cut a tooth of the belt and its fine now.. but im just wondering if yall ever had that prob.

Wow...um....i have a headache from reading that. But from what i could make out of whatever the hell you just wrote...You might have bought the wrong belt. Not positive, but if it did not fit then it probably was not the correct belt, and modifying something as important as a timing belt is not a very smart idea. Good luck in college,

You did what??? You cut down the iming belt, or the alternator belt???

Why not just buy the correct belt??
