Default need a quick answer: 2000 civic cd player fit in 1997 civic

sorry if this is a repost, i tried searching but could not find what i was looking for. I just need to know if the stock 1997 civic radio harness will fit into a stock 2000 civic cd player.

i know it fits into a 92-95 civic cassette deck, just need to know if its the same for the 99-00 years.

No. The plugs are different, as is the physical shape of the face of the radio. The 97 radio has the angled edge on the left side, whereas the '00 is a rectangle.

Although you can get it to power up and function (with a forward and reverse harness), it won't fit in the dash correctly.

i had a crx and put a civic si deck in (it was a b16a2 don't remember the year) It was a lot a trouble. I had to find each wire and the function. A 97 civic would have a lot more wires......just buy a new deck.

Thanks for the nonsense noob post. More wires? WTF are you talking about? Regardless of year, the harnesses have the same number of wires. 8 speaker wires, 2 power, 1 ground, 1 dimmer.

The only thing that changed was the plug configuration and color of the plastic...
