Default Projector Question

k..looking to order some projectors off ebay, and i'm just wondering, with these TYC ones, will it be compatible with an aftermarket HID kid? [just H4 Bulb and ballast] ?? cause it splits into 2 bulbs there for some reason, where as the stock Eg's using H4's only have the 1

and the aftermarket HID bulb is thesame thing, not split like these:

well the hid kit must just be a low beam only? if so, you may want to look into some projector retro fit idea for the tyc housings. They have room in them to put a Bi - xenon hid projector so you can have high and low beam. The reason the tyc pro splits into 2 is bc the highs are not a projector.

No, an H4 kit will not fit. Those lights utilize separate bulbs for the low and high beam (often H3 or H1). You would need the proper kit for the particular bulb, but even then, the output would not be as good as if you used actual HID projectors.

why dont u save yourself the hassle and get yourself some of these. they sell them on ebay. Cuz HID's on oem housin makes the beam blurry and not so good as expected. So these are clear and they have a city light like the JDM do, and i think they use the regular H4's unlike the o.g. jdm that use H4H. I would consider this option but i dnt think i'll use the corners. but with these you should be able to get a good beam outta them! And if you Local in socal i could hook them up for you! jus gimme candy! jk but i could hook them up for reals. we could trad somethin ie, some eg sidemarkers or something! aite here's the pic.

^ i highly doubt those will prevent the HID scatter though

my buddie just keeps gettin hassled because his scatter so much, so thats why he's leaning towards projectors

on his brothers Mazda 6 they put an aftermarker HID kit in the halogen projectors and it looks very similar to the TSX, TL HIDS

jus using jdm style corners instead of the clr black housin corners, seems cheesy to use the black housing corners. but the clr headlights with amber corners and your hid kit, and bam your set to go! then slap on some fogs and double baam! twice as nice!!

H4 Bulbs are dual filament.... meaning that there is a low and hi beam option. Therefore they wouldnt put one of these bulbs in a projector because the light output will not change that much. The reason why some newer cars are coming with HI-LOW HIDs is because they actually force the bulb forward and increase the angle of outputon the cutoff plate inside the projectors.

most of the aftermarket projectors utilize H3 or H1 bulbs.

Manueliscool's suggestion to use clear lens H4 headlights is probably your best option in terms of a simple plug-in solution. However, there will still likely be a large amount of glare produced by using an HID kit with them. I would recommend that your friend sell the HID kit, purchase a set of projector headlamps, and then retrofit a pair of OEM HID projectors into them. In the interim, using a set of Philips Vision Plus H4 bulbs in the headlights will produce the best results.

the kit my buddy has is just ON or OFF H4, there is no low or high with the hids, so that also poses a problem...

uhg...and he was gonna give me the projectors for free once he was done with em too lol, oh well maybe i'll find somthin still
