Default Computer Question! Help!

Will a 98 civic DX ecu work in a 96 ex? I swapped a y7 engine into it. So i need to swap ecu's too just wondering.

u put a non vtec single cam in a vtec single cam car. the ex computer will run the non vtec motor but the dx wont run the ex motor. then again the ex computer will also look for vtec solenoid and pressure switch so it will throw a check engine.

He said he put a y7 engine into it, so what you said doesn't mean anything. I think 96-98 are obd2a so the ecu should work fine.
