Stock Security System on DA
My friend has a 1990 GS I've been doing some work on. I found two switches under the steering column, kind of tucked back where you can't see them (they're pretty small). There's also a little LED right on top of the column, I assume these are for a security system? She also has an Acura key fob that came with the car, but it's in the glove box (since she got it) and she doesn't know what it does. I didn't want to play with the switches because I don't want to immobilize her car. Is this some kind of stock security system? If so, how does it work?
yes there was an optional security system for the car in this year.
it wasn't manufactured by honda though... i forget who did them
it was someone like pioneer or something. look on the back of the key fob for the manufacturer and call them
it probably works. you probably just need to replace the key fob battery.
the alarm box is probably located near the steering column right behind the panal that covers the column under the dash.
