Default Stereo got stolen - need help to restore the system

I'll save my comments to myself cause I may get baned.... *6%&#$$#@!

I need to put my stock unit back. Question, when they installed the HU, they said my old stock unit is in the back. All shop took out when they installed the new (now stolen) HU was the stock face plate cover. They did not take the stock unit out because it's connected to the key-less entry.

Now looking into the hole in my dash, I don't see the old unit. Do they really leave it in?

Is it easy to bring the sound system back to stock?

Thanks

BTW on 96 Civic.

Does your factory keyless still work...if yes then your radio is still
in your car...you have to remove the console to access it. Basically
its about 8 screws and pull tabs....open the glove box and start from
there. Once you find it it should be simple. If you cant figure this out
and its still a mystery...seek professional help. Oh by the way...this
is a great time to upgrade from that useless keyless entry to a real
security system.

Thanks for the info. P.S. I do have an alarm with disabler and back up battery. I think the "back up" did not kick in, or they beat it too. I'll have to check and retest it. Or it did kick in and no one gives a rat's *** if they hear an alarm any more .

P.S. Can anyone tell me how much I should pay for labor if I was to have the shop do it? Put the stock system back.

I'll rephrase the statement...."if you are using the Honda Oem remotes
to lock/unlock/arm disarm your car"...you do not have an alarm.
What you have is what we call in the biz a parasite. It uses the pulses
from the doorlocks to turn on/off,has a led and if your lucky a shock sensor.
Its normally sold when the car is purchased new....basically as profit
for the dealership. Except for the few glowing examples..the vast majority
are just crap.

If all the parts are there....most shops will
charge a basic fee for 1 hours work. I would say from $45-50 bucks or whatever their
labor charge is for radio install.

The shop will likely try to sell me a new HU. After what happened, I'm afraid to get anything cause I have to park in the same place.

What's your take on this? Need opinions. I'm going to the shop this afternoon.
