How to remove TSS security system
sticker on the window says TSS Transponder Security System with a number that is bad.
Key fob that must be passed over a magnet under the steering column. I moved the magnet to be close to the key.
I think this company went out of business as I cant find anything on the web about it.
having a problem with my idle dropping to 0 and the stupid TSS key fob has to be passed over the magnet before you can restart the car.
So I want to rip the system out. wondering if I can just cut the two wires to the magnet and tie them together.

I'm willing to bet this may be RFID-based going by the "transponder" label and you're going to have to trace it deeper than the steering column - unless you're sure it's magnetic (I would dig deeper regardless, as it may expect momentary feedback from the switch in the steering column).
unknown on the magnet- it looks like a magnet wired to two wires.
It might be a RFID system - Early one.
I work three hours from my house - where all my tools are- and wont be home till friday. Just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about this old school system.
here is a picture of the keyfob

Fallow the leads from the "magnet" and remove any box/relay/wiring that is connected to it, and reconnect the cars OEM leads that were cut to install the aftermarket system. 94
yep what I just did.
Removed box and reconnected the primary ignition wire that the box was interrupting.
Once looked at it- really stupid alarm system. A thief could defeat it in 2 minutes or less. All it really did was make a unaware owner have a false sense of security.
