when i shift into gear there is definitly A LOT of knocking going on....most of the noise is coming from the mount on the drivers side.....ya i'm pretty sure i need new mounts. my question is....are they pretty easy to replace and do i absolutly have to pull the motor out???

You can't get new D-series mounts I think. There was a post on this yesterday (SEARCH). Anyway you can get inserts which work well, or you can do the cheap thing and use polyurethane window sealer in a caulking gun. I did the cheap way and it worked really well. You do need to take the mount out, so support the engine with a jack or something and make sure you let the **** dry overnight. I did only my front mount (the others were fine) and I have NO wheel hop now. It does make the car vibrate a little more at idle but it's really not that bad. I just put 4 poly inserts in my friend's MX6 project car, I'll let you know how that works out in a couple days when I get the motor back in it. I don't think most people do all 4 mounts, usually just the front and rear, the sides will only send more vibrations into the car.

I did a set of the poly inserts on one of my buddys integra and they work like a champ. We only changed out the two torque mounts and the rear one.

Here is the post I made a couple days ago that you talked about https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1492380 . I think that I'm going to try the polyurethane caulking.

you can get a new set from honda for fairly cheap...around 170 for all four or 210 for mugen ones...

install is pretty easy...you just have to jack up the motor on the side you are installing it...take out three bolts and put the new mount on, line everything up and torque it...real easy wiht a proper jack...
