Default motor mounts

I need atleast one new motor mount for my d16a6. my passanger motor mount is cracking bad and I figure that it would be a good time to change all the mounts. Is there any company that makes stiff motor mounts for a good price. I saw that hasport makes mounts but they are like $450. My other opition that I'm thinking of is prothane inserts. But it sounds like you have to press them in and I don't have a press. Any options on fixxing or replacing the motor mounts will help.

You can't get aftermarket D-Series mounts, if you have a cracked mount here is a good plan of action -

Purchase a new used one in good condition (I have a couple laying around)
Purchase some inserts
Inserts need to be pressed in alright.....with your hand
Put back in and enjoy

Sound good to you?

can you post pics of the mounts you have? Won't the inserts work if the rubber of the mount is cracked? How much would oyu want for the mounts? With the inserts would I have to take all the old rubber out of the mount to get the insert in? What is a good price on prothane inserts?

Inserts will work with cracked rubber, but I like starting from new rather then patching it back up.
No, you just slip in the inserts which is pre-molded to the depressions in the mounts
Depends on if it is for the front/rear or side/passenger. Shouldn't be more then 50$ for all four corners covered.

Get some pics up I may be interested. If you have ever had a car or been in a car with inserts, does it make the car really noise(lots of rattles and squeaks? is it worse than like hasport mounts?

is the PL polyerythane a caulk(sp) like the window weld is? I think I'm going to try one of these before I buy inserts or mounts. If the PL polyerthane is a caulk then I will probably use that over the wendow weld because it will probably be stiffer.

do the prothane inserts make any noise? like squeaking? I now they will make more vibration in the car. How much did you pay for your inserts? where did you get them? and did you use old cracked mounts or did you get mounts that were in good shape? Thanks

How do you like them?

So what does everyone think I should do fill the the mounts with polyurethane or use the prothane inserts??????

Why did you only use polyurethane for only the rear mounts?

The Prothane Inserts come with all 4. Energy Suspension... I'll find pics. I actually called a dealer and had them take pics comparing the two manufacturer's products.

I love them. At first the vibrations are wild... they simmer down after a while though. Originally I couldn't figure out why I kept ruining axles turned out to be the front tranny mount was broken and the inserts stopped the trend.

The Window Weld or other such products do work, but if you're mounts are torn to pieces it'll be harder to center the pin in the correct place while the material hardens... if you mess up, you gotta get new used mounts or somehow get the material back out.

Go to the junkyard and find a stock mount to replace your cracked one and throw some polyurethane inserts in and call it a day

my mounts are not totaly gone they just have a few crack in them so I thought I would so what I could do about mounts. Also I figured having stiff torque mounts would be nice.

There is no local junkyard that will have mounts.

I'm probably get the polyurethane and fill the mounts or buy inserts for the mounts that are no my car now.

Pics comparing the Energy Suspension Inserts and the Prothane Inserts. All the inserts are the same with one exception being the front transmission mount. Energy Suspension uses a 2 piece unit while Prothane uses a single piece unit.
