Crank Positon Sensor?
Swapped LS into EG hatch and need to know if I need a crank position sensor. OBDI motor with obdi p75 ecu. Start the car and it idles at 2500 and the motor kinda shakes a little bit. It throws a code 4(crank pos. sensor). I dont even have the sensor on the car. Do I need it? NEED HELP ASAP!
crank position sensor is in the distributor on obd1 motors.
if theres a problem with the sensor(unlikely) you'll have to replace the distributor housing (unless you do some ghetto crap)
there could be a problem with your harness. check the harness for continuity from the CKP to the ecu. crank position in hondas is a hall effect so its fed a source voltage and has a ground (the ecu). you'll have to check source voltage also (probably not source voltage).
if you'd like a diag tree, let me know... i'll post one.

it is possible, honda doesn't sell the part. you have to go ghetto to do it.
you'd have buy a distributor housing from honda or buy an aftermarket or used distributor somewhere else.
my suggestion is try a diag tree inside a helms manual before buying a new dizzy. its cheaper (free) to go through a diag tree. you also narrow your search down to the exact part that requires repair.
didn't you say you just swapped this motor in? during the swap you could have duffed the harness up a little
pardon me for not being a normal HT part slapper

Ok I put a brand new dizzy on and it is throwing the same codes. 4 and 7...CKP and TPS. What do I do now? Please help me, I'm out of ideas.
Also, I dont know if I mentioned that the motor kinda shakes and runs very rough.
