do all b20s have crank positon sensors?
does a obd2b car need the crank position sensor to turn on?

Re: swap help
#2 iirc, it needs that sensor when the engine misfires. to let the ecm know where the misfire is coming from. i could be wrong. you do not need the ckf sensor, when using an obd1 ecm.

Re: swap help
i just bought a jdm b20b and there is no crank sensor ?? -__- idk im running a em1 ecu. my previous motor (b18b) ran perfect. and the b20b doesn't stay on unless its helped and doesn't accelerate right and its been backfiring.

Re: swap help
it turns on but it wont stay on unless i help it stay on as in play w the throttle body to keep it on. and when try to accelerate it it misfires and it doesn't rev right it boggs out. would the crank position sensor cause that? the em1 ecu asks for it but i dont have one on the b20b
and are you guys sure that jdm b20b dont come w crank position sensors?

Re: swap help
k i jumped the crank sensor and i noticed i had 2 of the inj plugs mixed up LOL and now it sounds a little better. but its still iffy.
by firing order you mean are my spark plug wires in correct order? if thats what you mean then yes. it doesn't studder that bad now when i rev it but it still missfiring and other thing. im running a em1 ecu would that cause a big issue?
o and its a bone stock 96 jdm b20b w ls trans in a 00ek. and im running em1 harness and ecu.
one more thing my friend just noticed that the b20b has 9 cables and the harness has 8 was i supposed to swap out the b20b dizzy for a ls dizzy?

Re: swap help
didnt read everything. JDM engines are obd1 based ecms. no ckf. so if you are running the jdm ecu you wont need the ckf. if you are using a domestic based ecm and need to retain obd2 you will need to do an oil pump swap.
