HUGE CLUTCH/TRANNY PROBLEM!! What Could It Be?
I think I just found a huge problem in my build and I wanna cry
I pretty much built a motor from scratch, my first ever top to bottom. Its a D16A6 motor
Ive got pretty much everything buttoned up and installed in the car, today I was finishing up and I connected the clutch cable to the tranny and tightenned down the plastic nut.
I pulled up on the lever that it attaches to and it goes up without anyforce being needed, just barely have to touch it and the lever raises. I pushed it up hard a few times continuously and you can hear it ting off of something, sounds like the little clutch fingers...............
I jumped in the car and sure enough there was ZERO pedal pressure.
Im actually really sad now cause i thought everything was going great and I find this at the worst possible time.
The clutch is a clutch specialties 6 puck unsprung, cable transmission.
I really need help as to what it could be and what I have to do to fix it. I really dont want to have to pull the motor, my parents would freak and I need the car asap.
Someone Please HELP!

sounds like either your clutch cable broke (which I've had happen to me while driving -- easy fix) or your throwout bearing broke (which has also happened to me, but not while driving -- pita cause you gotta pull the tranny off).
The throwout bearing is brand new
i dont think the cable broke because I can lift the tranny level (dont know what its called) like butter and listen to it hit something
It still springs back down easy but its so easy to pull up

OK
SO I just went out to the garage and found a spare d16 tranny I have, I got the bolt you say i need
But when you remove that bolt and push up on the cable lever it just spinsinside the tranny andthe throwout bearing doesnt move, why woud I be hearing a spring type clink when I pul the lever up quickly and let it hit whatever it is hitting, to me it sounds like a noice the little presure fingers would make when hit, but i dunno

Perhaps you are missing the bolt in question
Perhaps your T.O. bearing isn't correctly installed
or better yet, perhaps you put the clutch disc on backwards (assuming spring hub)

Yes. Certainly is possible.
Yes. Certainly is possible.
Everything was flush though, clutch disk against the flywheel and pressure plate against the clutch disk
Would this cause what im syaing?
Cause Im pretty sure when I installed the throwout bearing with teh tranny out I moved the lever a couple times to make sure it was smooth and I remember it coming out easily
I really dont think its the bolt
What could it be
