Default need help with my car radio

i have a 92 civic 4 door.
just recently my stereo doesnt have any sound. i tried a new head unit and it still doesnt work. there is no sound at all from the speakers but the head unit lights up and everything. theres power going to the unit. the wierd thing is after a few rpm the sound comes in fuzzy then just fades away. Does anyone know what the problem is here?

Let me know. Thanks alot everyone!

How do you know that wasn't the problem? Did you disconnect each speker one at a time?

My friend, that IS a ground problem. Check the chassis ground is making full metal on metal contact (did u scrape away the paint)? Then post results.

the rear left speaker was broken. The positive and negative connections snapped off the speaker.

yeah your probably right. pos probably touched the ground which would turn the internal amp off.. actually shouldn't it have turned off the head unit? i know on mine if you short out ( touch pos and neg together) it will turn off so nothing gets hurt.

Pos. touched the neg. or "signal return" and the intermitant "sound comes in fuzzy" would be because as the RPM goes up so does voltage and the protection circuit would have to deal with it. 94
