Default Radio problem!!

Hey so i bought a pioneer premier dhp500 n it works fine but every time i turn the volume to a certain level my sound shouts off but the head unit is still playing...i was wondering if anyone could help me out? is it the head unit or my connections? or my speakers? thanks if anyone could help

1 of 3 things is happening...

It's starving for power, there's an inadequate ground, or there's a speaker grounding out somewhere.

or a speaker is blown and not offering any resistance...no resistance=melting amplifier in deck=pioneer goes into protect mode
