I had the same problem. It worked with my old motor but didnt after my swap. All I did was wired it to a switch to turn on whenever I want it on. I havent had a problem since

I dont think they're b-series specific..
I bought a mugen switch off ebay for like $2 and when it came it said "This will fit all civic & integra with all type of engine"..Also I had a mugen thermostat as well that I got off ebay for like $5..

Sorry not to hijack this thread. I have the same problem after my motor swap and I believe it is the sensor not working.
Do you know what size socket to use to remove it? I don't have that size big socket looking to buy one. Also is it possible to replace it while the engine is in the engine bay?

I am pretty sure it's a 24mm deep socket (if memory serves correct) if not then it's a 27mm for sure, and yes it can be removed w/o removing the motor because that would just suck otherwise.

Hey thanks for the quick reply... Going home after work to try get this fixed. More likely to be a 27mm. I tried a 1" socket and the sensor is bigger than that(25.4mm)
I believe the one off my old D16 should fit on my B18 block.

Yes it will if you have not drained the coolant..

Correct, I switched mine while my motor was hung but before I added coolant.
All though if you wait until your car is all the way cold you can just have your new plug ready and right when you pull out the old one just quickly screw in the new unit and it should not leak much coolant at all, just have a catch pan to catch the little that does spill.

please just replace the plug. it will be much easier than the DIY wiring job for a switch.
the previous owner of my car replaced the fan switch with a driver controlled switch. he fixed one wiring problem and created about 6 more. granted it is nice to choose when to have your fan on.. but the luxury of having your fan run after you turn off your car will be gone..

Hold on a second...
Depending on your swap, the switch is on the block near the oil pressure sending unit. On most later engines, it is on the thermostat housing. So your switch may be fine, just not connected properly.
Check that out before you go further.
The plug for the two sensors is completely different as well, so you will need a new plug if you have a switch on your thermostat housing as opposed to the back of the block...
