Default radiator fan switch

searched and found a bunch of stuff but eh yeah.. nothing really convering this
few questions
b16a2 into eg hatch, fan worked with old motor before i put new motor in. now fan never engages

1. what are the usual steps to troubleshoot this problem
2. if i wanted to just get a switch to turn the fan on and off,, do i use a wire , switch and what type kind of fuse?

My fan never comes on either but it never overheats either. I think my thermostat is busted open but I wont know untill next week.

Double check that you have the connector plugged in and make sure it's the right connector. Then if that is good, replace the thermostat.

Im not sure where the fan switch is on a second gen B16 but, check the theromstat housing. There should be a brown female plug. You have to run a plug from your old wires to this to get it to work. This is the fan switch, I think. If not, just run a toggle switch and when your sitting in traffic flip it on. You need a accurate temp gauge tho. More so then a stock one

Yeah, it is on the thermostat housing. At 196 degrees F, the ECT (engine coolant temp.) gives the cooling fan ground. Now you do not have it hooked up OR not on the right sensor, it will not work.
