Default Building a z6... what pistons??

im building my spare d16z6 and ive decided on eagle h beam rods and oem bearings, but cant decide on which pistons to go with. there are so many....CP, Arias, SRP, Vitara, Wisesco, JE...ETC.

i want something affordable, easily available, something close to 9.0:1 CR, and can hold up to at least 300-350whp. and ones that dont need machined to fit eagle rods.

if you have stock sleeves, SRPs are the cheapest, and they are stronger than your stock sleeves. i love my SRP's and plan on running around 20 Psi (rich and conservative tune) through them this year. currently at a rich 16 psi. REALLY REALLY pulls.

with a good tune, yeah.

jeff evans has made 308 whp on a stock bottom end, and supposedly the guy is daily driving it.

any detonation at the level, and it'd die.

obviously jeff evans knows his ****! haha. SRP's are so much stronger than stock, its funny. if they cant hold the same or slightly higher power level, that sucks.

if had the money id go for CP's , Endyn or Wiseco

I got SRP's gonna boost it around 18psi on stock posted sleeves

I have seen vitaras boosted at 15psi so i assume that the SRP's can take 20psi.

If you are really looking for budget... go vitara. I'm using them, have over 7k miles on them and they are noisey but holding fine so far.

If I blow these... I'll be going with a set of wiesco though. It really all depends on the $$ you are willing to put down.

There are people who have made 400+whp on SRP's perfectly fine.

I didn't know there were problems with SRPs.

I'd stay away from Vitaras. For my 300-350whp build I'm going to use eagle H-Beams with either Arias or SRPs.

I don't see the point in getting Vitaras. They're undersized so you get blowby and tons of noise. I'd like to see the sleeves of a Z6 after a set of Vitaras has been run for awhile.

Yeah I dunno about that. 300-350whp might be a little much for those cast pistons. What's the most anybody has even made on those on a daily driver? Has anbybody even hit 300whp? I sure as hell wouldn't want to run 350whp on those Vitara's lol...

Do it right the first time and get some nice forged pistons.

CP, Wiseco, Arias, etc... your choice really.

I haven't seen any hp numbers from people running Vitaras. They say "I'm running 20 pounds of boost!"

Great, what kind of numbers are you putting down?

FJT posted his numbers...

When I get some I'll post numbers...

I've got over 7k miles on mine and going fine...

My new setup should be quite capable for what it is... of making good power... I'm going to see what the Vitaras can handle.
