sleeveing engine
ok my block is hot tanked and alined hones since it spun a bearing on the mains.
it's time to sleeve now i got a h22 closed deck and it looks like you bore the old sleeve out leave a divit at the bottom for the new sleeve to rest on. Then i gues i heat the block up with a torch to about 250ish and drop the new sleeves.
if this is correct what sleeves are good for boost on a h22 closed deck.
I was thinking dartons iron inserts or some small block chevy sleeves???

errr... ok.... Well there are directions on dartons site, and they suggest that you use a CNC machine on the block(everyone has those in their garage)..

i'm guessing you could use some type of oven to heat you block up? instead of a torch now i know everyone has a oven. But i don't think my roommates would be happy.
if you want quality work..send the block to someone whos done it a million times

remember, you never want to cheap out when it comes to stuff like this... dont go to sears and buy a torch just cause you want to have the "successfull" feeling..

yeah the guys from ohio i seen that vid before matt has the same equipment but not the aline honer that those guys have in the video.
it a nice vid to see the technical aspects fo the bore and honing process.
and i guess you hot tank the temp and then freeze the sleeves.
do all sleeves need that beveled edge for sealing?

Hmm.. Matt has some of the same equipment and doesnt know how to sleeve.. I would call Darton then... And my parting note - Dont do it yourself..
