Default D15Z1 QUESTION

do you think a d15z1 block with a y8 head would be a good choice. The compression would go down to about 7:1 so would the motor be good for boosting? i dunno?.....feedback pLEASE.thankz

7:1cr may be good for boosting on motors with a lower redline (ie domestic v8s) but for high-revving less torquey honda motors, it's too low.

That set-up would suck for probably any sized turbo due to too-low CR.

I'd focus on finding a complete 1.6L SOHC engine and ditch boosting the D15Z block because it has pencil-thing rods and won't take the boost nearly as well as a 1.6L block will.
