Default DC2 ITR brakes on EK4

hi guys, ive got an EK4(abs w/ rear discs) n i was wonderin if any1 has fitted ITR calipers on2 their EK?

i no that they will fitt straight on2 an EG, jus wondered if it was the same 4the Ek's.

i can get all4 calipers & mountin brackets off a JDM DC2. i no that i would need the discs drillin 2fit 4x100 or convert it 2 5x114.3, im jus wonderin if the mounting brackets will still put the caliper in the rite place?

i dont think that the rear trailing arms off the DC2 will fit my EK, if they wud fit, it wud make the conversion easier.
cheers.

It is kind of unclear as to what you want to do. Is to simply put ITR calipers and remain 4 bolt, or do a 5 bolt swap.

If 5 bolt then you need the rear trailing arms fit off of a DC2, the control arms doesn't fit (just use your stock ones) You absolutely need the rear hubs in order to fit the ITR calipers and carriers and obviously disks. For the front you need the entire knuckle assembly.

If you want to remain 4 bolt but have ITR calipers and ITR sized disks, then here is what you do. If you have rear disks stock on your car then you probably have the 10.3" front disks, if you do then just use the ITR calipers w/ the carriers and get some 92-96 prelude VTEC (11") disks and have them redrilled 4x100. They are already 4x114.3 so you have lots of space to drill and be safe. For the rear get the EP3 rear disks and use either the EP3 calipers and carriers or ITR caliper/carrier. EP3s have the same size diameter rear disks as the ITR but 4 bolt (obviously don't get EP3 Type-R disks .... 5 bolt)

hope that helps

bang on mate

was considerin doin the 5stud conversion as i wud b easier to me 2jus put ITR disc on it, than gettin others drilled 2fit.

if the trailin arms from the DC2 will fit, will the 1s off an EG hatch fit2? ive gotta pair layin round not bein used.

wud i really need the whole knuckle assy for the front? or wud jus the hub n bearing b ok? i no the disc guard wud b the wrong size, but is there owt else that wud stop it fittin on?

oh, n thanks 4ur help sam!

sam, im guessing that the control arms wont fit cos of the different ways that the rear shocks mount on?

im asking cos ive got abit of a weird EK4 by the sounds of it. most of the others in the UK seen to be eyelet style fitment, but mine is fork type, just like my old EG5 was.

I would just convert to 5 lug just to make everything simpler. Type R would have ABS so your ABS would still work.

You are right the control arms won't work due to the shocks, plus the lengths are wrong. So just do what we do on this side of the pond .... keep your EK control arms and will work just fine. The only question mark in the whole thing is brake lines, I don't know if yours are long enough. I had to use ITR all round since I had 9" up front and drums in the rear. The rear lines should work fine, but the front ones may be too short.

fair play. think ill have to measure the font lines when im fitting them. had to play about with the front pads today anyway, so i know jus how 'little' play there is with them.

thanks for all your help guys.

you really do need the knuckles to do the front correctly. i had to do it liek that on my eg6 when i did the 5 lug conversion (which looks hott as hell)

i can also stop on a dime and give you back .08 cents with the brake upgrade. good luck!

If you have the 10.3" disks already, then you don't need them, if you have 9" disks then you need them because the carier offset is way off and you won't be able to bolt in the carrier/caliper/disk.
