I recently found a '98 ITR for sale...$16,500

turns out it is a theft recovery that's been brought back to life with GSR parts...engine/tranny, seats, sway bars etc.. The car has less than 5K total miles on it, it still has the 5 lug set up and replacement OE wheels/tires. All of the body damage has been repaired and the car looks straight....but, considering the car has a salvage title, forget about getting it financed right?

Is it worth $16K to buy basically a "gussied-up" GSR?? Considering the heart and soul of what makes the ITR is gone....engine/LSD/sways etc.?

the block of the gsr isn't bad, but without hte lsd and some of the internals, it's too much to bring it back to the old stage.

Don't do it. LSD, engine, transmission is what makes the Type-R unique among other things I can't really think of.

I'd consider buying something like that for maybe $5,000, sell the GS-R parts, put in a new ITR motor, gut it and use it for a track-only car.

$16k is way too much...it wouldnt stop me from getting it for $11k-$12k and slapping on a Drag kit....
