My sister in law had her car serviced due to a check engine light. It's a 97 civic EX. Honda says that it's code P0301, 304 random misfire. When I check the list of codes online it says that P0301 is Cylinder Num 1 misfire.

They said the cause of this is a bad ecu. BUt I know it's pretty strange for ecu's to just go bad and i'm a little iffy on whether it could actually be the ecu. Does anyone have any ideas on what could possibly going on. Could it just be something simple like a bad spark plug or dizzy.
