hey guys i've been having trouble with my b18c1 DA and it's starting to get annoying..it's happened a few times but only throws a solid cel...maybe it's the ecu but it just started to happen. i've been gettin the solid cel for a while now..before this happened

i was cruising on the highway today and all the sudden my CEL popped up and it seems like it hit limp mode and as i step on the gas its like i hit a limiter..sputter..but that was around 4000rpm...i would hit the gas but the car would die/slow down but the engine's still running..i downshifted cause i had to get back up to speed on the highway but it keeps goin slower but it kept revs when i shift. i turned the car off and on and it'll run normal with no CEL.

 

More than likely a bad ecu. Get another ecu from a friends car even if its not a vtec ecu just to test it and see if it still happens. Usually a solid light means that the ecu is not working.

hmm...i got a p05 gsr chipped laying around...maybe i'll try that..kinda sketchy puttin that in tho since its only a p05

 

before doing that i would check the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR.

 

check the CEL?

 

it's a solid cel..which could narrow it down to the ecu. however this problem just started happening and i've been gettin the cel before this problem...just didn't know if they could be related
