Is it my ECU? Backfiring, Limp Mode, Clicking Relay...all the good stuff
I think my ECU or chip is bad...
Driving today (my EG SOHC-T), my car started back firing pretty badly. When it would backfire I could hear the main relay clicking.
About 2 minutes into my drive the car sputters really bad, CEL turns on and the car shuts off. Exhaust smells like gas. I try to restart it and nothing. I get the car towed home and try to pull the codes, and the light would just stay on, no flashing.
I unplug the ECU and plug it back in...magically no CEL and the car starts right up. But...now the car won't rev past 3000 RPM.
What do you guys think?
I'm leaning towards a bad ECU or a bad chip job by the guys who did my basemap.

sounds like some kind of ecu issues. Do you have another ecu you can test?

Some new information...
When I touch the ECU with my finger, the main relay clicks and the car almost dies! I redid all the grounds and it still does it.
Any thoughts?

I'll be getting a new ECU soon...
I know it's not the main relay, I installed a brand new one 3 or 4 months ago.

It was the ECU...got a new one and it seems okay, it idles decent although the stock ECU has trouble with the 440s. When I touch it's fine, no dying...
Thanks for the help.
