basically the same. the b18b intake manifold and cams are a bit different(better) than both gen b18a1.

90-91 b18a1:130hp 121tq
92-93 b18a:140 hp 126tq

you can look at the engine date code on the head it will say 9/1-9/4 for it to be obd1. other than that if you know how to tell the difference between the plugs on the engine you can tell.

yes the dizzy has different plugs. the head year is right about the 4 and 3 exhaust ports.

it will kinda look like this (9/1)

a take the year of the car subtract on year and youll get the year of the head.
so for it to be obd1 its will say (9/1)- (9/4)

it will look like that

well by looking at the head code you can most of the time tell the years of the car it came from. a 93 car will have a 92 stamp on the head.

"Distributor is OBD1 for sure.

OBD0 (pre OBD) distributors have two translucide round plugs
OBD1 distributors have two grey rectangular plugs,
OBD2 (at least OBD2a) distributors have 1 square grey plug.

Also, I THINK (not sure here) that electronic VSS on the tranny would indicate that it's Hydro... therefore OBD1 is logical. However the looking at the distributor is more reliable.

Olivier"

so then what year is your motor? it looks like 9/1 - 9/0?

its a 91 engine, so it would go into a 92 car.

oh ****...lol, i thought you were asking the year of the pic

my engine is a 93 ls engine and its has (9/2) on the head. and yes its obd1. obd1 was from 92-95. so if your looking for it on the engines it be (9/1) -(9/4)

There is no vin on the block. The only numbers that are on the block are B20B 1135416 and P75. Any ideas?

so the 92-93 b18a has 140hp which is the same as the b18b 94-95? so it doesnt really matter what motor to look for?
