Default picking up my teg tomorrow

Ok well on this local forum a guy is selling his 92 Integra for 500$ it has a spun bearing. the car is rust free and is in great shape other then the spun bearing. im buying the car no matter what i hear in response because i can always do a swap and i might just go that route. but what and how much damage does a spun bearing do? what do i need to fix? It was NOT the timing belt it is still intact and still there. i just wanted to get some feedback from you guys. thanks much.

the block will need all new bearings, probably a crank, and a align hone. i'd just go out and buy a b18a or b for $500.

you should be able to get a B18a/b for 500-700. You could allways put a full GSR swap for around 1300-1700

its really depends how long the bearing has been spun for .. if it just happen u may just be able to throw some new bearings in it but if its been a while ur best just to do a swap.

Basically you'll just have to pull the oil pan and take a really good look at the crank, if it's not scarred just follow the little color code in the book and replace the bearings and see what happens. Bearings are relatively cheap, the crank is $1000 from honda though so you'd be better off sourcing a used engine like the other guys said. BTW if you've never done it, the crank and rod have corresponding number letter combinations, you have to use a chart in a honda/acura book to order color coded bearings. It usually helps to wipe a little oil on the crank/rods to make the numbers/letters appear, for some reason when they're dry it's hard to see them. As for the cheap GSR swap, for real I think we'd all like to know where to find them for that price.

Wow, nice assumption of the seller. Wonder what he thinks of you for not knowing what he does. Just because he is not automotive inclined does not make him a dumbass.
