Default Bitch Pin issues...

I just wanted to find out if any body had their's just come out for no apparent reason. I've had my car for a couple years and yesterday my shift linkage just suddenly disconnected from my tranny (stock sohc). When I pulled everything apart, the bitch pin (roller pin) was floating around as well as the clip that goes around the linkage. I'm at a total loss as to how this could just come out. I inspected everything and all appears to be fine, the pin was not damaged, the clip was good and the boot is not torn. I'm concerned about it coming out and being stuck someplace again but everyone I've talked to so far about it say they have never heard of it just coming apart. I put it all back together and all is good now but I wanted to see if this is a fluke or if other people have experienced this.

Never had an issue. The bitch pin is hard enough to get out when I want it out, I can't imagine it coming out on it's own? Maybe you should get a new pin and clip, maybe they've been stretched somehow?

never have seen that happen before. I have ripped my linkage out of my tyranny, but never had the pin just fall out.

Was the transmission removed, short shifter installed by some shitty shop??? It was probably not put on right, those things just don't come apart

I don't have a short shifter, just stock... I don't have shitty shops work on my car, just myself or very good friends that I trust. When I didn't have as much time on my hands to do stuff myself, I had a friend of mine install my engine like almost 2 years ago. I don't think this is from poor worksmanship from 2 years ago. It would have certainly come out by now if he had screwed something up. Can't figure out how it would just come out... I guess I'll just get a new pin and clip and call it a day! Thanks all!

lol, bitch pin. I never heard it called that, but seems appropriately named. I've rarely even had the clip and I've never seen one move. Did it go in really easy? As long as it fit tight it shouldn't happen again...especially with the clip.
